Since I’m away at college and I have nowhere to work on my bike in Morgantown, I have been doing a lot of shopping around on the internet for parts. In an attempt to clean up the handlebars, I decided to get rid of the old bulky switch housings, upgrade the master cylinder, throttle and grips, and go ahead and replace the handlebars themselves.

I decided to order Posh mini switches from Japan and run the wires through the handlebars. A single on-off-on switch for the blinkers and another on-off-on switch with a momentary push button for the kill switch and push start. I’m going to relocate the switch for the lights to the headlight bucket. By going this route I realized that I would have to get a new clutch perch since the old one is built into the current switch housing.

The guys from the CX500 forum helped me find a place to get a new master cylinder because I was having trouble finding one for a good price. I will also have to figure out a way wire everything to keep my brake lights from functioning when I use the front brake. I think I’m going to have to get an inline banjo bolt brake light switch to fix it.

When I first got my bike I ordered some Posh gran turismo grips. I was kind of indifferent on the look of them. I went ahead and ordered some Posh barrel style grips to have another grip option. I’m glad I did. To me, these go a lot better with the feel I want for my bike.
